There is no question that sports betting has a place in the Lone Star State. I’ve been involved as a voice and as an observer in the Texas political landscape for years, and it is rare that a decision on policy has such vocal support from so many people across the state. The matter of sports betting in Texas is gaining momentum, and if the people get the chance to vote on this matter, it will be clear that this is what constituents want.
Unfortunately, when it comes to sports betting, Texas instead is falling behind. However, the Legislature has the opportunity to shift this. Now is their chance to recognize sports betting for the lucrative and beneficial pastime that it is and to make the move to allow our state to participate.
